Getting Top Value for Your Budget

San Diego Bride and Groom

Date: May 13, 2000
Location: Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Coronado
Guests: 400
Approximate Price:  $90,000-$100,000
Wedding Planner: Geneene Thornton, Waterfront Weddings by Celebrations Event Planning

This bride and groom concentrated most of the budget on where the most time was spent-the reception in the ballroom-including specialty linens, chivari chairs, flowers everywhere, a live band with a DJ for the breaks, and party favors their guests could enjoy while at the reception. These party favors included chocolate-covered roses and chocolate cigars. The couple also ordered custom-designed wedding invitations.

A substantial budget was set aside for photography and videography since the couple wanted to enjoy memories of their wedding on videotape and film for years to come. A pre-wedding video as well as a portion of the wedding itself were videotaped and shown at the reception just before the first dance. The couple received value for their money by hiring a wedding planner who assisted them in choosing the best vendors to make their storybook wedding come true.
